Love it some days, other days it's just not right. One time I ordered a steak sandwich and it was excellent, then a few weeks later had the same sandwich, and got multiple bone shards in the New York strip on the sandwich. It's just odd how the inconsistency us in this place. It happens with the staff too. They have pretty huge turnover, it seems, so I rarely get the same waitstaff, which is a shame. I've had people I really enjoyed, and then never saw them again a few weeks or months later.

For the price not that great. $15 for half a Philly steak sandwich. The sand which did not have much flavor. I've had better ones from dominos.

I had the Blue Wagyu Burger and a strawberry lemonade - it was delicious! I was a little disappointed by the customer service, but I will come back.

I have had a few meals here but each time I'm disappointed. Recently I had the Thai Wrap. The waitress asked if I wanted salad. I was astounded that it cost extra so I didn't order it because I noticed that the Wrap cost a whopping $8.95. It came with a few small pieces of chicken and a bland Thai sauce. The open end allowed dripping of some sort prompting me to ask for more napkins. The noise level is very high making conversation with friends difficult. I can get a much more satisfactory meal at Golden Crown restaurant when I order their delicious Golden Phoenix which has shrimp sushi topped with more shrimp costing $9.95. I do not recommend Mamacita's.

Pleasantly surprised. Five of us driving through LaGrande, yelped, and had an enjoyable lunch here. While not 5 star material each of us enjoyed our dish. Good quality food. Each plate emptied clean. Service was friendly and helpful.

I had the drunken shrimp pasta, it wasn't bad. Pasta needed to be cooked a little longer and it needed more sambuca but the shrimp was very large. I would order it again. My Mom had the taco salad with sautéed tofu. This is her go to meal when she visits. As she puts it in her own words "LOVE IT!" My dad had the waygu blue burger. It's his go to burger and he recommends it.

Headed from Seattle to Twin Falls ID and stopped in LaGrande for a bite. Checked YELP (duh!) and reviews were spot on . Friendly Service, clean bathrooms and good food that would bring me back. New York Steak Sandwich (med rare) actually hot and pink. Very tasty! Kimberly had steak salad and was very pleased, actually to quote her, steak salad was savory and satisfying. Gotta have the MarionBerry cheesecake!!! I wanted to lick the plate but cooler heads prevailed

My husband and I came here for date night and it was surprisingly good. The service and food was great, but a tad pricey for what we got. I got the chicken parmesan and was blown away by the flavor and juiciness of the chicken :) My husband got the lasagna and wasn't too impressed with the portion and flavor for the price we paid. Overall, we would go back.

First off: not a Mexican restaurant, but soooo good! We shared the drunken shrimp noodles and the flavor was outstanding. It was not quite filling enough for two very hungry people but enough for us the day we went. Waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere. Fairly expensive- dish was almost $18 at lunchtime. They offer a lot of gluten free items.

My family and I couldn't find the restaurant when we first moved here but, when we did find it, we loved it. My father and I had the Wagyu Beef Burger and it was absolutely delicious. Their Italian appetizers were wonderful and the waiters were very sweet. They have different specials throughout the week, which is great. Also, Kahlua Cream Pie! I don't care how stuffed I am because that is my dessert of choice each time! I'll be coming back here over and over!

After a long road trip to Eastern Oregon, we were starving. It was too late for lunch, and too early for dinner. 3 pm. I went to my handy Yelp app and found Mamacita's. We were led to a dirty table, and waited for 10 minutes before our server came by with a rag to clean it. The dining room was empty except for one other table of 4 people. After ten more minutes, which seems like forever in an empty restaurant, she came back with a grand smile and took our order. All was forgiven with how friendly she was. I asked her if I should get the Philly or the NY steak sandwich, and she eagerly recommended the Philly. Then she asked the strangest thing; how did I want it cooked? I said to do it however the cook normally makes it, and she told me it would be medium rare. Strange for a steak that's prepared thin sliced and thrown on a flat top, but ok, we'll see what happens. My co-worker ordered a $10 salad. She said she was hungry and wanted to fill up, but is a vegetarian. She added tofu to her salad for the protein and we began the long wait. And we waited. And waited. And waited. 40 minutes after being seated, we received our lunches. And three minutes later, we walked out. I received the wrong order. A NY steak sandwich with meat so tough, I did my best to gnaw through one of the strips. Warm, processed cheese on the side, and a bowl of greasy broth came with it. My co-worker's salad was warm, limp lettuce with sad looking wet red onions, soggy tofu and a sloppy presentation. She took one bite and looked at me with wide eyes. We were out of there. I paid our $24 lunch bill, tipped the friendly server four dollars, and we went to Taco Bell.

In my opinion this is the best restaurant in La Grande. It it's more of a diverse menu than just Italian. More of a Bistro style including salads, pastas, burgers, and much much more. Very affordable when compared to big city restaurants of similar size and type. You can usually get one of their more expensive dishes for less than $15 a plate. They also have weekly specials that add done extra diversity. Compared to other restaurants in the area, the quality good, but not far different or better to a well prepared home made meal, ad the cost onto that, we often choose to eat elsewhere or at home.

Another wonderful place to eat in la Grande. Fast service, cleanly, great food. My gf had the pesto pasta and that had a wonderful spicy kick to it. I had the Thai wrap which was good, peanut sauce was runny but I think that's just how they make their peanut house sauce. Wasn't spicy, which was a small disappointment. All in all was a great experience with great customer service and reasonable prices. Would highly recommend over Bangkok east which has slow service, like a turtle.

Always good food, always good service. This is a regular place that my friends and I go to for lunch or dinner.

Stopped in LaGrande hoping to find a quick, edible lunch, but ended up wishing we could come back soon! Had the wagyu beef burger with cheddar and the house dressing. Subbed a gluten free bun and a salad for the fries. The beef, which is grass fed and local, was absolutely delicious. They got the amount of dressing just right so it add flavor but didn't become a huge mess. The gluten free bun was excellent, too. There were many gluten free options including desserts and the service was friendly, quick, and capable. Will definitely return.

Finding good gluten-free places when you are on the road can be very challenging. We found the staff to be very informed about Celiacs and knowledgable about the menu items and which items were OK. My wife had a burger with a gluten free bun and I had a salad, both were excellent, as was the gluten free cheesecake. If you are a celiac this is a great place to stop.

I have been here a couple times because my family lives in La Grande and I have a friend with a sensitive stomach who likes the chicken dishes here. Generally, I think the food is four stars, but the service is only two stars. The last time we were there for lunch, I had my 10 month old son with me. I ordered a veggie burrito and asked the server to have them steam broccoli and carrots for him. The two other people with me also ordered simple items. An hour later, we finally got our food. The burrito was ok, but pretty expensive for beans and cheese. The carrots and broccoli--on the other hand--were basically raw even though I told her he has no teeth and they need to be soft. By that time, we just wanted to eat and leave, so I didn't send them back (my friend did send back her sandwich, which did not have cheese or sauce on it for some mysterious reason). I think they get slammed at lunch, but even the dinners I have had there have been slow. Definitely a place to go when you don't have a schedule. I've heard the pasta dishes are good, but haven't tried yet.

I've eaten here a number of times and the food and service were great. Didn't have to wait long to get fed, you gotta love that if you're starving right? My favorite thing or perhaps most consistent favorite is the green goddess dressing on the salads. Mmmm that is just "the heat". When I eat here .. I have it. You should too. Imagine eating a super great salad, loving it and not having to feel quite so guilty about what you ate when you leave? Doesn't get much better!

Worst dinning experience I've have had in some time. The food was bland and boring. The service was awful, took forever to get our order taken, once we got our food, the waitress never came back to check on us or fill our waters. The worst part was the table of drunk cackling middle aged women, who were so loud we couldn't even carry on a conversation. At the point there cussing got so vulgar I complained to our server and requested she ask them to stop, her reply was; "Oh, there leaving soon" in spite of the fact we had an eight year old with us and it was the middle of the afternoon! I will NEVER go back to Mamacita's!!!!!!!!

  • Pancho V.

We love this place. The menu is diverse enough to satisfy almost anyone, they have some good vegetarian offerings, and the Wagyu beef is excellent. The attention to fresh ingredients is also notable, not to mention their support of local ranches and farms. If they're busy service can be a bit slow (duh) but we haven't found it to be a problem. The staff are universally nice and helpful. Our critiques are limited: burgers tend to be pretty salty (the Wagyu less so, probably because the inherent flavor of that beef doesn't require it) and the menu doesn't change much. It'd be nice to have some newer offerings. Overall, it's a gem.

This was a Yelp! find. We were in La Grande for our monthly Wal-Mart stop and it was around lunch time, so we browsed our options and mutually agreed upon Mamacita's. The parking was somewhat lacking, but we wound up with a decent spot under a tree on the street. There was just a little wait, as it was lunch time and this appeared to the "it" spot of choice. We were offered patio or basement seating, and with one glance at each other, we both said "basement". This was interesting. We were led down a staircase near the front doors to a whole additional dining area complete with its own bar. The lighting was just a little dimmer than upstairs, but because of some daylight coming in through a few windows at the ceiling, it was just fine. I do believe this would be an awesome date night spot. The menu was really large and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. I finally decided on the pesto pasta, minus the chicken. My boyfriend ordered a burger and fries. The pesto was deliciously rich, creamy, and done to perfection. Very glad I went without the chicken, as I couldn't finish my plate as it was. I stole a couple of my boyfriend's fries, and found them to be very tasty. He informed me the burger was perfectly acceptable as well. I am glad we came here, and would come back again. It was a little on the pricey side, and as mentioned earlier, I think it would be better suited to a special night out next time.

I ate there as part of a group of 15. The food was below average as was the service. Out of our group which had many things on the menu there was not one positive comment. There has to be a better place to eat in town.

My first time dinning here. I got the Teriaky Burger and it was the best one in town. Good food, attentive waiters, happy customer!

Fantastic margaritas (a bit strong, but who's complaining?) Delicious taco salads (I had chicken, my mom had beef - both were gone before we left) Attentive, helpful, smiling service at every turn. Congrats, Mamacita's. You rock.

If you have one meal on your way through La Grande, this is the place to stop. We have eaten here many times as we have family who live in La Grande. The menu is very diverse. Although Mamacita's sounds like it should be a Mexican place they have something to please all. I do like their quesedilla's and also their steak pasta. The margarita's are also great. You can tell they take a lot of pride in what they do in the kitchen.

I had lunch here today and could not find a thing about it I didn't like. I had the taco salad and it was wonderful and very inexpensive. My whole meal was under $10!!! You can hardly do that at Dairy Queen. It was clean, the bathroom was clean, waitress was cute and friendly. What more can you ask for you.

Stopped here on a road trip looking for a bite. Checked Yelp for a highly rated place in La Grand. I went for the Wagyu baconburger. It was exactly what I expected and I ate every last bite despite feeling a bit full near the end. I had it with the strawberry lemonade which was average and didn't realize until refill time that they weren't free, but another $.95. The fries were just fine. Wife had the taco salad based on other user reviews. It wasn't bad but not what it was chalked up to be. It was a little hard to eat (mix of salad leaves and beef). It would have been better with more chips and mixed with some kind of sauce. It had a side of some kind of sauce that tasted kind of like 1000 island dressing, an odd match IMO. Also I'd have preferred more beans. We didn't finish it all, and the waitress didn't ask us if there was anything wrong as she took the 3/4 full plate away when we were done. I really enjoy taco salads usually but this one wasn't my preference.

I've been hang'in out in this joint on and off for years. It's consistently good grub and the booze ain't bad either. Service is GREAT, and the dames are .. well you know what they say about dames.

Driving through Oregon on the way from Idaho to Washington, we decided to spend the night at La Grande. On a road trip you get pretty tired of eating the same old burgers and whatnot, so this unique restaurant was a breath of fresh air! Tasty food from several cultures, pleasant outdoor seating, friendly staff.

Don't let the name confuse you. A very diverse menu, we happened along the drive back to Washington. Great for family's, staff super friendly and accommodating.

Safe option for a small town. Think Olive Garden but family owned. Food comes fast (like too fast) and tastes fine. Service was friendly and attentive.

What is with the waitresses here? I have never had good service here, they all seem to be on some other planet. Otherwise I have always had good food and drink here. If you ask for hot sauce you get several different kinds and they have Sweet Potato Fries if you ask!!

  • Joe K.

I like this spot. For me, it was all about the cilantro vinaigrette!

  • Donna B.

Went there today with my family for about the fifth time. There are new owners and a new name, Mamacita's International Grill. I miss their old menu, but the new menu is diverse and they still have their yummy, famous Kahlua pie. Everything is fresh and handmade. The salads are lovely. Their burgers are good, and the quesadillas are a personal favorite. If I had any critiques, it would be in the service area. I had to consistently ask for our beverages to be refilled, and I never did get the side of ranch that I requested. So, if you're in La Grande and looking for a good place to eat, give it a try. And, save room for dessert.

Great restaurant..... Expected Mexican but was international cuisine that had salads, hamburgers, wraps, and more.

  • Kent X.

This is the best place to eat in La Grande. Going to college here made me miss all the culture, and fine cuisine. This place is definately not 5 star food, but the food is very good, and the portions are lovely. The diversity of its dishes is great! ranging from Thai, Mexican, and American Cuisine. The only thing to stay away from is the Colorado burrito, which is a mess of nasty chilli and pork inside a burrito. The salads are amazing! You must get the green gauttice dressing.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
